AFTER spreading the word of God through his gospel music for 15 years, Thinah Zungu will now also become a pastor.
He will be anointed at Ark Fellowship Church in Matikwe, north of Durban next Thursday , 3 April.
The 34-year-old told Daily Sun church members requested him to become their leader, as their pastor had died many years ago.
“I’m not new to the church as I grew up attending the Sunday School until the leader Bishop Gumede died and the church was left with no leader.”
Thinah said his father was a pastor at the Zion Church but they were allowed to attend other churches closer to their home.
“Ark Fellowship Church used to give me the opportunity to sing and that is where my music career started,” he said.
“I hope church members will give me time to learn more about my new calling. Being a pastor will not change my music because both are about delivering God’s words.
“There are people who are revived by gospel music and others who are revived by having God’s words preached directly to them. This pastorship calling came to me unexpectedly.
“Maybe I’ll make some mistakes but I ask people to bear with me,” he said.
Thinah said that although he was happy with his new path, he was also a bit nervous because he was on six months of probation to check if he was fit to lead the church.
