MASKANDI musician Khuzani "Gatsheni" Ndlovu, who recently become a taxi owner, is on the lookout for a taxi rank for his new vehicle.
Gatsheni, who made headlines by outshining Grammy award winner Tylar at the Cultural and Creative Awards, also clinched a Toyota Quantum at the Mother of All Maskandi festival in Durban.
The 34-year-old artist from Pongola, north of KZN, mentioned that securing a taxi rank and route would see him eagerly deploying his taxi into service.
"For the time being, I'm utilising my taxi for my performances since I'm not in a rush to secure a spot in the taxi rank," he explained.
Gatsheni shared his initial concerns about winning the taxi.

"I was anxious because I heard rumors that the event organizers might switch the prize to a different vehicle, not the new Toyota Quantum I was promised. Thankfully, I received exactly what was promised," he said.
The Hit after Hit maker triumphed over 30 other Maskandi musicians to win the new taxi.
Notably, naskandi stars Mthandeni Manqele and Khuzani Mpungose were excluded from the competition, as voted by fans, due to their significant achievements in the industry.
Having been in the music scene for over a decade, Gatsheni gained substantial recognition this year. He won the Best Newcomer award and R100,000 at the Cultural and Creative awards organized by the Department of Sport, Art, and Culture in March.
Following this award, he won the Quantum and has since been receiving continuous bookings for various events, including political campaign rallies.
Currently, he is leading the pack in the Khuphuka Nezakho Maskandi festival top six, as voted by fans. The festival is scheduled to take place at Curries Fountain on Saturday, 4 May, in Durban.
Gatsheni started his music career in 2013 under his real name, Khuzani Ndlovu. However, due to the fame of Khuzani Mpungose, he opted for Gatsheni, his clan name, as his stage name.
