MORE and more female DJs are taking over big shows in Mzansi and abroad.

Hip-hop and club DJ Dineo Mogoai is one of the DJs who are making big moves in the entertainment space right now.

She follows in the footsteps of stars such as DJ Zinhle, Uncle Waffles, and Hazel Mahazard.

Dineo, who is popularly known as Drihanna, spoke to Daily Sun about her music career.

Drihanna said she wants to conquer the world with her deejaying skills and leave a mark like other talented young people out there, especially female musicians who are doing wonders in the entertainment industry.

The artist who was born and bred in Pretoria said she was inspired by Barbadian singer and businesswoman Robyn Fenty, who is famously know as Rihanna.

"My love for music was inspired by Rihanna from a very young age. It is the way music alters our moods that inspired me to pursue a career in the industry,” she said.

Drihanna said music has contributed a lot to her happy moments. She believes it's a beautiful thing to share this experience with others and in turn to create happy moments.

"I believe that’s what Deejaying is all about. Creating good times and unlocking new memories for people,” she said.

The musician said she always makes sure that her sets are incredible.

"I started pursuing my inclusion of Aptitude as a DJ from late 2021 by attending lessons and being mentored. I am doing a great job in the creative industry and they know me well in the clubs,” she said.

Drihanna said she would like to work with lots of creative musicians in the future.

"Locally I would like to work with rapper Blckie, 25k and Mashbeatz, and Areece because some of these artists are from my area and are making a significant mark in the industry that inspires me to make my mark in hip-hop," Drihanna said.

She said people can expect an industry takeover from her in the future.
