FORMER Skeem Saam actress Shoki Mmola started her career in the television and film industry in 1996 at the tender age of 16!

The actress from Tzaneen, Limpopo, recently left the SABC1 soapie.

Shoki, who played the role of Celia Kunutu who was married to Alfred Magongwa, said she believes she was born a star.

On Friday, 29 July, the actress took to Instagram and wrote: “1996, the year I discovered that I could FEEL and REACT on command.”

Shoki said she has never looked back since she started her career.

“My first, I had to learn fast ... the TV etiquette ... Setswana ... Ke Nna Mokhaga. To believe in the make-believe,” she said.

She said even though there were challenges, she had to stand firm and believe in herself.

Shoki said she is now a permanent resident in the television space.

“I still hold the power of opportunity in my pocket. Cheers to the madness that keeps me sane,” she said.

Actress Inno Sadiki said the beauty is on another level.

“My king, when it all began for us,” said Lerato Mvelase.

Felicity Makopo said she liked how Shoki switched languages and this confused her a lot as she didn’t know whether she is a Tswana or Pedi-speaking person.
