Skeem Saam fans: Bye bye, Celia!

Fans have shown Skeem Saam actress, Shoki Mmola some love after learning that she's leaving the show.  

The actress, who plays as Celia on the SABC 1 show, also shared on social media that she's leaving. She thanked everyone who supported her work. 

“As I bow out of Skee Saam, I bow even lower to Everyone that has supported my work over 28 years in the industry… And 10 in Skeem Saam……HERE: to telling more stories,” she wrote.

Announcing the news on Thursday, 30 June, the SABC said she would be missed. 

“Boasting a whopping 26 years of her television career, Mmola has been playing the character of Celia in Skeem Saam for 10 years and in that role has been one of the show’s lead actresses, contributing to its accomplishments over the past decade. Always keeping fans entertained,” the public Brancaster said in a statement.

Her fans and fellow cast members showed her love and wished her well.

Fellow Skeem Saam actress Amanda Manku said she loves Celia’s work. 

“Always has been and always will be a favourite. Love your work!!” she commented. 

Buhle Maseko, who plays her stepson, Nimrod, on the show, commented: “I've got nothing but praise and gratitude for you. Truly iconic. All I can say on this platform is, Thank you. Can't wait to see what's next!”

Instagram user, Umhlanti Wendlunkulu, wrote: “Sesi waka mann!!! Here’s to bigger ama better!!! #Legend #powergirl Keep rising!! I love you more than words can say!!

Grace Living34 thanked her for sharing her talent with her.

“Thank you for sharing your gift and craft with us.I love you sis and to many more years of you giving us SHOCK WAVES super proud of you motase,” she wrote.
