Former Idols contestant Lungisa Xhamela has released an amapiano song called Kuwe Bawo.

LUNGISA Xhamela is back in the music scene after a three-year absence.

The singer just released an amapiano single, Kuwe Bawo, that talks to God.

The former Idols contestant rose to fame in 2015 when he was a finalist on season 11 of Idols SA. He later went on to earn a South African Music Award for Best R&B and Soul Album for his debut album, My Heart To Your Soul in 2020.

Kuwe Bawo is a song of helplessness and finding strength in the higher power. It's a song that expresses that where our strength ends, God's power is manifested.

“It's a song that says we can try things on our own, but there's only so much our own intellect can do for us,” he said.

When Lungisa won the SAMA award in 2020, he mentioned how he had lost his apartment.

“The SAMA served as a constant reminder that no matter how difficult things get, South Africans see my vision and love the work I do. Because of that, losing my apartment and all the financial woes I faced mattered less than the hope I carried inside,” he said.

Lungisa said God has been his pillar.

“I've seen money come and go, but God always had my back and for that reason I remained hopeful no matter how empty my fridge or my wallet were,” he said.

He said the support and love have kept him hopeful.

“My fans all over the country send me positive messages almost daily, telling me how much they love me and my music. My team and family also support me,” he said.
