BEING an influencer and creating content is the new way to make money.
Even though many content creators are women, men have also joined the space.
Former Big Brother Mzansi contestant, Tulani Madala, who is popularly known as Tulz, said content creation is one of the things he does recently, and it has been a good experience.
The 29-year-old from East London in the Eastern Cape said he does not see himself as an influencer, but he gets approached by brands, which he respects.
“It’s not as easy as it looks. You can have an iPhone but if you don’t know how to use it, you might as well have Android,” he said.
He said he does content creation as a job and he enjoys it.
“There is a lot to it but it’s a lot of fun because you get to attend nice events and meet cool people,” he said.

Tulz said South Africans are sleeping on content creation.
“There’s a stereotype that it’s mostly done by women. It's just a stereotype. It is also something that South Africans will wake up and realise has grown beyond,” he said.
He said it isn’t about the gender but the work you put in.
“It’s about the quality that you deliver. If they ask you to sell chips, sell those chips. If it’s cologne, sell it. So, it’s not really about gender but it’s more about you taking it seriously and making it a job,” he said.
Tulz said he is back on radio and doing more things.
“I'm currently on YFM and the show is called Home Run. I’ve done some acting as well, but I can’t really speak about it yet because of NDAs,” he said,
