MISS South Africa 2023 Natasha Joubert is bringing Christmas early for South Africans who want to go to school.
The beauty queen will be giving away bursaries and scholarships worth R1,5 million to 27 recipients.
As part of the Natasha Joubert Collective in collaboration with Boston City Campus, she will grant 12 bursaries.
Additionally, in partnership with the Study Buddy Fund, Natasha aims to provide a second chance at higher education for deserving individuals, distributing 15 scholarships.
The 26-year-old said entrepreneurship and education are close to her heart and she would focus on that during her reign.
“I'm focusing on education during this initial stage. I was in a position where, without a scholarship, I wouldn’t have been able to study further. So, I know how it feels to be excluded because of a lack of finances," she said.

The scholarships are only for specific courses. To apply, candidates are encouraged to submit their acceptance letter or provisional acceptance letter along with a one-page motivational letter directly to Natasha.
“I want it to be inclusive and not only available to the top achievers. I also wanted scholarships for less traditional studies, so this batch of scholarships will include content creation, television production, higher certificates in financial planning, business management, marketing practices and paralegal practices,” she said.
Nozicelo Ngcobo, public affairs, communications and sustainability manager of the Study Buddy Fund, said they're happy to help improve the lives of young people.
“Given the current challenges of youth unemployment in the country, a higher education can go a long way towards improving young people’s prospects of finding jobs and enhancing their and their families’ quality of life,” she said.
