DURBAN-BASED commercial radio station Gagasi FM trended for the wrong reasons over the past weeks, but it seems to continue attracting big fish.
The radio station, which caters for KZN, has announced top actress and DJ Pearl Thusi as their addition to the new line-up for this season.
Pearl will be a residential DJ for a midday show called Midday Connexion presented by DJ Sonic and Khaya Mthethwa every Wednesday from noon to 3pm.
She started her radio mix on Gagasi FM on Wednesday, 3 April.
Gagasi FM spokesman Khulekani Shandu conformed the news to Daily Sun.

Pearl follows DJ Hlo, who was a residential DJ for the same show on Mondays in February.
For the past few weeks, Gagasi FM was criticised by its listeners after one of their favourite radio presenters Penny Ntuli left the station on a sour mode, claiming the station was going to pay him R2 800 per month.
Angry listeners took to social media to lash the station and accusing it of exploitation. Penny later landed herself a new job at Jozi FM, where she presents a mid-morning show.
Although Gagasi FM was under fire and criticised after Penny's departure, it seems the station still attracts top celebs.
Gagasi FM recently welcomed back Kings of the Afternoon Sphectacula and DJ Naves, who left Metro FM and rejoined Gagasi.
The two were with Gagasi FM from 2017 to 2019 and left it to go back to Metro FM.
Top actress Nelisiwe Sibiya also recently joined Gagasi FM for the Sunday night show.
Attempts to get Pearl to comment were unsuccessful but on Wednesday, she confirmed on her Facebook page that she would be joining Gagasi FM.
“Livestream!!! Or tune in!!! So excited!!! My very first Radio mix. God is so good,” she wrote.
