FILM and television director, Mandla Ngcongwane, said his adult show, The Black Door, is not going anywhere.

This after several social media pages said the show was getting canned on Wednesday, 31 August.

The Black Door airs weekdays at 9.30pm on eTV.

But Mandla N told the People’s Paper it’s just people who want to give the actors anxiety.

“The show is not getting cancelled at all. Those are just fake news,” he said.

He said they can’t get it cancelled as it is getting numbers on the channel.

“We are growing and people are loving the show. Why would we do that? It will never get cancelled,” said Mandla N.

He said people must stop spreading rumours about this. “As a producer, you always need to be on your toes as many people want that spot. This isn’t fair as people publish fake news and people will think they are going to lose jobs,” he said.

He said they have creative meetings every week as they want to make sure their performers keep doing well.

“We are Black Brain. We always make sure we employ young talents. There are many shows that are coming up and people will still be employed under our company,” he said.

Mandla N said they will also be celebrating some of his actors for their SAFTA nominations on Saturday, 3 September at Botanical Gardens, Walter Sisulu, Joburg.

“We are just showing our talent how much we value them. They are doing a great job. So, we are proud of them every single day,” he said.

Bennum Van Jaarsveld, eTV corporate communications, told the People’s Paper that the show isn’t going anywhere.

“Thank you for the enquiry. At this stage the show is not being cancelled and is still on air,” he said
