HE is fast creating a name for himself in the house music industry.
LaTique will release his long-awaited 3rd studio album GG (God Given) on 25 August through RVRE Recording Company.
The house music producer, whose real name is Mfihlakalo Siphesihle Mbanjwa, hails from Estcourt, a small town in the uThukela District in KZN.
Speaking to Daily Sun, LaTique said the sound on the album was inspired by the talent God gave him.
"I believe my music talent is special and was given by the Almighty.
"I love the sound so much, and that’s my new elegance," he said.
LaTique has shared studio sessions with big names like Kabza De Small, Chronical Deep and Chymamuique.
Asked why he was releasing the album through his newly established record label, LaTique said it was time he spread his wings.
"I think it’s time I showed my growth and used the experience I have acquired in music to myself. I believe in my fans. They always support my work.
"The album is blessed with different sounds, the deep house, of course, more of some Afro and tribal tech. It differed from the others because it includes multiple sides of music of mine," he said.
LaTique boasts a massive catalogue with Stay True Sounds, Atjazz Record Company, House Afrika and DM Recordings.
He reckons that he discovered his music ambitions in 2012 through his brother Sandile Mbanjwa, known as Cilongo.
"I used to love playing around with keys, and I would stand beside my brother the entire time, just so I could see and catch a few skills, especially the basics," LaTique said.
He began producing music in 2013 and has never looked back since then.
"I got myself a computer, and the only thing I couldn’t wait to get was Fruit Loops Studio, a production software.
"My biggest goal is to change people’s lives through my music and to be a South African icon in a way that inspires all the underground cats that believe in me and my music," LaTique said.
