HOUSE producer and DJ, Manga Emzansi has given DJ Clock his flowers, saying he changed his life for good.

The musician, whose real name is Mangaliso Cokoto, said the Durban-based star taught him all the tricks to make it big in the entertainment industry.

The 38-year-old told Daily Sun he was lucky to be mentored by DJ Clock.

The musician from Mofolo Central, Soweto, said he started as a deep house DJ in 2002 and in 2003, he met DJ Clock.

Manga Emzansi said DJ Clock taught him how to use Fruity Loops software.

"I took music production in 2010 when we were invited to Oskido's house with my cousin, Pex Africa. I then met a lot of music gurus such as DJ Pepsi, Jimmy Dludlu, Professor, and Big Nuz," he said.

The producer said he is now doing big things in the music scene.

"I was inspired by DJ Pepsi, DJ Glen Lewis, DJ Toyota from Naledi, DJ Pro (Mlungisi), and Mgedeza. I'm a big fan of good music. Genre doesn't matter as long it's good music," he said.

"I've worked with Loxion Deep, DJ Tokzen, Bantu Elements, Clap and Xelimpilo from Uhuru, Thabo Spirit, Mickey- DJ Micks Mseleku, a well as DJ Sonic. It was an amazing experience because they all do different genres of music," he said.

Manga Emzansi said he'd like to work with Josiah De Disciple, DJ Stockie, MFR DJs, Qwabe Twins, DJ Tira, DJ Jaivane, Sjava, Lwah Ndlunkulu, Piano Hub, Maphorisa, as well as Mafikizolo.

He said his single Let's Travel with Kitty and Lala did great over the years, and the song titled Ngixolele, featuring Kitty, made him a household name.

The musician said he is busy now working on his latest single.

"My single is done and ready to be released by the end of June. I've worked with Kitty, ZamaNdosi, DJ Sonic, and Thabo Spirit on the single," he said.

Manga Emzansi said he is also working on an EP that will be released during the festive season.
