JOY Mbewana, president of the Creative Cultural Industry Federation of South Africa (CCIFSA), expressed relief at the arrest of suspects in the AKA murder case.
Joy said although the suspects have been arrested, the creative industry still wants to know the motive behind AKA's killing as they're still living in fear of who is next.
She said artists are afraid to post their gigs on social media because they might be targeted.
Joy said the creative industry has lost hope in Mzansi's government and expressed frustrations such as delays in adopting the Copyright Amendment Bill.
“To be honest we were not expecting the police to arrest them so quickly because the government always lets us down.

Joy noted the impact of AKA's murder on a popular busy entertainment road like Florida Road in Durban, where artists now feel uneasy.
“We are still shocked by the way AKA was murdered on a busy road for entertainment in Durban. Florida Road is a place for creative industry. Artists just chill there after their hard work," she said.
Joy said as creatives they were hurt in 2023 when DJ Zinhle announced that she feared performing in Durban after AKA’s shooting.
On Wednesday, 29 February, five suspects Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi (30), Lindelani Ndimade (30), Siyanda Myeza (22), Mziwethemba Gwabeni (36) and Lindokuhle Ndimande (29) appeared in the Durban Magistrates Court and the case was postponed to 6 March.
Other two suspect who were arrested in eSwatini are still in the process of being brought back to South Africa to face charges related to AKA's murder alongside the other five.
