THE five suspects accused of the murder of AKA and Tibz are expected to appear in the Durban Magistrates Court on Thursday, 29 February 2024.
Two other suspects who were arrested in eSwatini will appear in a court there for unlawfully hiding in the country before they are brought to South Africa to face the AKA murder charges.
AKA, whose real name was Kiernan Forbes, and his friend Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane were gunned down at The Wish on Florida restaurant in Durban on 10 February 2023.
On Tuesday, 27 February, police announced they had arrested six suspects, including the two who were arrested in Eswatini.
On Wednesday, 28 February police announced that they had arrested a seventh suspect, who is 30 years old.

The first suspect was arrested on 22 April 2023. On 24 October 2023, a person suspected of being a spotter was arrested for multiple murder cases that took place in the Berea area in Durban.
On 14 December 2023, a suspect suspected of being the shooter was arrested for multiple murder cases that happened in Amanzimtoti and Berea in Durban.

On 24 February 2024, two suspects - one suspected of being the shooter and another suspected of being a spotter - were arrested for multiple murder cases that happened in Amanzimtoti and Berea in Durban.
On 27 February 2024, a person suspected to be the co-ordinator of the hit was arrested for double murder cases that happened in Berea, Durban.
