Makhadzi revealed that she's got an acting background from the State Theatre.

AWARD-WINNING singer Makhadzi made her debut on Isiphetho-Destiny on Thursday 25 April.

The 27-year-old Ghanama hitmaker told Daily Sun that she always wanted to give acting a try for some time but didn’t know how to get into it.

The new e.tv drama series stars Linda Sokhulu, Gugu Gumede, Pastor Mjosty, Mbalenhle Mvimbela and Tsholofelo Maseko.

“I’m very keen to explore all aspects of my creative abilities. Acting is something I’ve always had my eye on. This is a guest appearance, and it was a cool experience; I just had a lot of fun,” she said.

Even though it’s not a long-term character, Makhadzi enjoyed it.

“I got a chance to play myself, but there was a lot of acting involved. And it was fun. The actors made me feel welcome; the director and crew were just amazing,” she said.

There’s a video where the actress is speaking to Peter Mashigo, who plays Justice on the show. He asked her how she had left to be on screen for the first time, and she revealed that she had some background in acting.

“I went to do a theatre course at State Theatre, but this will be my first time on TV,” the singer said.

When Daily Sun asked if she'd give acting a professional try, she said: “You need to just stay tuned. You never know.”

Makhadzi also shared that she has a new song titled No. 1 featuring Nigerian star Iyanya and Prince Benza on Friday, 3 May.
