The Renault Captur has captured the hearts of compact SUV buyers in South Africa and now it is even better.
The updated version of the Captur has arrived locally and the good news is that there is a new entry-level model priced below R230 000.
Though the facelift is slight, tweaks include a redesigned grille, updated head and tail lights, new skid plates front and rear and the option of a fixed glass roof.
As it goes with facelifts, there are improvements on the inside too with new plastics, a new soft-touch dashboard and interior panels, a redesigned gear-lever, fresh central storage options and a new front row seat central armrest.
Like before, there are 0,9-litre and 1,2-litre turbopetrol engines as well as a 1,5-litre turbodiesel.
The new entry-level Blaze model undercuts the outgoing base model by a whopping R20 000! However, it isn’t just a back-to-basics version of the Captur as it comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, an infotainment system with a Bluetooth connection, air conditioning and power steering. Under the Blaze’s bonnet is the 0,9-litre engine.
Next up is the Dynamique model with more comfort and luxuries. Buyers can choose between the 0,9-litre engine with manual gearbox or the 1,2-litre petrol engine with a manual or automatic gearbox. The Dynamique also comes with the 1,5-litre dCi engine.
All Captur models come with a five-year/150 000km warranty and a three-year/45 000km service plan.
