JOHN Mashilo is grateful to the Almighty and his ancestors for their protection during a life-threatening ordeal.

The 73-year-old madala was allegedly attacked by five men in his home.

John recounted how the suspects struck him on the head, causing him to bleed. The incident happened in his Zakheni Village home near Kwamhlanga on Monday, 22 April.
