BIDVEST Wits defender, Siboniso Gaxa, is confident that his side will upset Egyptian giants Al-Ahly.
Wits take on Al Ahly in their Caf Champions League second leg clash at Bidvest Stadium today (3.30pm).
Wits are eager to overturn a 1-0 first leg deficit they suffered to Al Ahly in Cairo last week.
The Clever Boys will be hoping to make history by reaching group stages of the Champions League for the first time.
They will play Jomo Cosmos away in the last 16 of the Ke Yona Cup.
A 2-0 victory will be enough for The Students to go through to the next stage.
Wits were eliminated early in the Caf Confederations Cup in the 2005/6 season.
The former Ajax Cape Town defender was booked in the first leg clash against the eight-time Caf Champions Al Ahly.
Hlatshwayo has had a great influence for coach Gavin Hunt’s side.
Despite Siboniso Gaxa agreeing that it will be difficult playing without Hlatshwayo, he has also banked on his teammates to fill the 27-year-old’s space.
Gaxa said: “Thulani’s absence is a massive blow for us, but we have talented players on the bench who are capable of doing the job.
