KAIZER Chiefs players displayed an outstanding performance when they defeat Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 to ease pressure on under fire coach Steve Komphela.

Kick Off for this math was delayed by 20 minutes after supporters struggled to get into the stadium, before the match eventually got underway around 19h50.

Amakhosi  earned the through goals from debutant Siyabonga Ngezana and Bernard Parker, provided a timely morale-booster for them heading into the Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates on Saturday.

Themba Zwane pulled one back for the Brazilians from the spot kick, but it was too late for them to steal a [point or maximum points.

The Soweto giants worked hard for the win, inspired by Joseph Molangoane, who made his first start for Chiefs this season.

Sundowns Tiyani Mabunda was sent off for a second bookable offence, following a reckless tackle on Parker, and the home side were soon two men down as substitute Cuthbert Malajila got injured and couldn’t finish the match.
