POLOKWANE City held Orlando Pirates to an entertaining 1-1 draw in the Absa Premiership at Orlando Stadium on Saturday night.

Pirates went to this game flying high after recording an emphatic 3-1 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns last Saturday and they were expected to run riot of Polokwane who have been struggling to maintain consistency this season.

But it was a different story as Rise and Shine showed their intentions early as they managed to get an early goal in the 19th minute of the match.

Polokwane debutant Dominic Chungwa scored the first goal which saw his side leading the encounter till late, when Pirates substitute Lyle Foster came in and cancelled the goal with three minutes to go.

Polokwane came to Orlando with a plan and they managed to apply it until the crucial moments of the game where they were defending too deep only to make a mistake which saw them sharing the spoils.

After a frustrating first half, Pirates came out in the second half looking to revise the score-line in their favour.

Their struggles in front of goal forced Milutin Sredojevic to pull out two defensive players Mthokozisi Dube and Innocent Maela.who were replaced by attackers, Ayanda Nkosi and Foster

Polokwane could have got all the points but defending too deep towards the end of the match coasted them maximum points.
