In 2 Corinthians 10:3-4, the scripture states: “3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds)”. In this passage of scripture we learn that there is warfare and we are expected to engage in the battle.
Apostle Paul further informs us that the weapons are made available for use during this encounter. Wherever there is a battle there is an enemy. One of the greatest military commander, Sun Tzu, who led the Chinese army to victorious battles, gave one of the most powerful ruleS of engagement in any warfare which is: know the enemy and know yourself.
He said: When you are ignorant of the enemy but know yourself, your chances of winning and losing are equal. If you are ignorant of both the enemy and yourself, you are sure to be defeated in every battle. The Bible warns against ignorance through the following scriptures: Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: For we are not ignorant of his devices (2 Corinthians 2:11); My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6).
Therefore, my people are gone into captivity because they have no knowledge: and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst (Isaiah 5:13). However knowledge is powerful. A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength (Proverbs 24:5). These names reveal the attributes, qualities, characteristics and strengths of our enemy.
