WATCH: HIT AND RUN IN JOBURG CBD!

accreditation

A video footage of a horrific hit and run incident in the Joburg CBD has angered a lot of people.

The incident happened on Friday at 4:20 in the afternoon.

The clip shows a man crossing the road and then seemingly hesitating before an oncoming white car goes straight for him.

The driver seems as though he wanted to overtake the blue car in front of him.

The driver then swerves to the right and strikes the man‚ drags him across two lanes.

He then sped off  and hit other pedestrians in the process. He never stopped after the incident.

But now the hunt is on for the driver responsible for the accident.

Speaking to Daily Sun JMPD official Wayne Minnaar said “The vehicle is going to be traced by the JMPD and SAPS will do a thorough investigation.

"The JMPD takes hit and run incidents very serious because innocent people are being killed all the time, one of our own officers recently passed away after being hit by a hit and run driver. Families are losing bread winners because of reckless drivers," said Minaar.

He said the department of justice is being too lenient on the offenders.

"I think the law should be strict on reckless drivers," said Minnar.
