Sassa payout dates change

accreditation

SASSA wants all beneficiaries of social grants that they will receive their August grant payments earlier than usual.

Sassa officials said there will be some changes due to the 2016 local election that will be taking place.

There will be no payment from 1 to 3 August.

The payments at the paypoints will resume as normal on 4 August until the last payment date.

Sassa spokeswoman Nandi Mosai told the Peoples Paper: “There will be no payment at the stations from 1 to 3 August as the dates have been moved to the 27 until 29 July because of the local election.

“All the local stations and facilities where pay point recipient receive their money have been booked for the local election.

“People who are going to be affected the most by the re-scheduling of the dates are those who receive their money at local stations. And most of them are our gogos and madalas. On 3 August it will be a public holiday but on 4 August everything will go back to normal.

“People who receive their money through ATMs, Shoprite and other electronic transactions will not be affected because they can collect their money as usual from 1 August,” she said.

Sassa officials would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the date re-scheduling.
