KRISH NAIDOO and Vusi Mavuso have resigned as SABC board members.

They described the SABC presentation during a parliamentary committee meeting yesterday as “amateurish”.

“I’m not satisfied with the presentation,” said Naidoo.

“And I’m saying this as a board member. I was not part of it and I don’t know who compiled it.”

The SABC board briefed the Communication Portfolio Committee on its decision to appoint Hlaudi Motsoeneng to a top post at the public broadcaster.

The entire SABC board, including Communications Minister Faith Muthambi, as well as Motsoeneng, were present, even though Motsoeneng was not invited.

Led by chairman Professor Obert Maguvhe, the SABC stood their ground, claiming they had appointed Motsoeneng after proper consultation with their legal advisers.
