THE evil woman took baby Luyanda Mosele far away from her heartbroken mum in Jeppestown, Joburg.
But even that wasn’t far enough to avoid SunPower!
And now six-month-old Luyanda is back in his mum’s loving arms, after cops bust the woman with the stolen baby in Durban, KZN.
And it’s all thanks to Daily Sun readers, who alerted cops when they saw the baby with the woman.
Luyanda was allegedly stolen by a woman and was found a week after Daily Sun published the story.
Mum Magdeline Mosele (37) praised the People’s Paper for publishing the story, and the police officers who traced the baby and the suspect.
Magdeline said she was depressed when her son was stolen.
“I am so happy and I’d like to thank Daily Sun and the police.
“If the story wasn’t published in the paper, I wouldn’t have found my son,” said Magdeline.
Luyanda went missing about two weeks ago when the woman, who has been Magdeline’s neighbour for more than five years, took the baby while his mum went to the bathroom.
The same day Daily Sun published the story, the investigating officer received several calls from readers who saw the child with the suspect.
Police from Jeppestown travelled to KZN after cops from Point Police Station arrested the suspect and took the child to a place of safety.
Jeppestown police spokesman Captain Richard Munyai said the suspect was brought to Joburg, where she will appear in court again on 19 December on a charge of kidnapping.
She was earlier granted bail by the Joburg Magistrates Court.
