A RUTHLESS killer is stalking residents of Machobeni, north of Durban.
The unknown assailant targets young men, killing them in a frenzy of bloodlust as they get stabbed multiple times . . .
And then he cuts off the victims’ ears and gouges out their eyes!
His first victim was Siyanda Mabizela (16), who was killed somewhere between Friday night and early Saturday morning.
When Siyanda’s family arrived at the scene, they had trouble identifying him due to all the blood.
Both his ears were gone, and an eye was missing as well. They recognised him by the clothes he was wearing and the birth mark on his back.
Siyanda died a painful death and it is believed that he was badly beaten before being stabbed in his neck.
Then on Sunday, the body of another young man, Lethu Mpontulwana (19), was found.
He also had multiple stab wounds around his neck and his eyes and ears were also cut out!
Siyanda’s sister, Thobekile (23), said they got the shocking news from residents on Saturday morning. We all got out of bed and went to see if it was really him. At first I couldn’t recognise him,” said Thobekile.
She said Siyanda had gone partying with his friends as he always did on weekends.
“We don’t know who’s behind this or why my brother was killed. The friends he was partying with told us that Siyanda left them and that they didn’t know where he had gone or how he ended up getting killed,” said Thobekile.
Police spokesman Major Thulani Zwane confirmed that two murder cases had been opened at Inanda cop shop.
“Both men were found with multiple stab wounds and had body parts missing. The motive for the killings is unknown at this stage. Police are still investigating,” said Zwane.
- President for SA Traditional Healers Association Sazi Mhlongo said those who kill people for their body parts are pure criminals.
“People believe body parts can make muthi for luck. There is no luck or wealth muthi that is made from human body parts. I suggest cops visit all the sangomas’ consultation rooms and look for human body parts.
“One would be surprised at what could be found there,” said Mhlongo.
