Noluthando Nkosi had been to see her gogo.

THE nine-year-old who went missing on Monday has been found – but she is no longer alive.

Noluthando Nkosi was found in the bush, lying on top of izinyoka wires.

According to her shocked mum Lindiwe Nkosi (38), of extension 12 in Soshanguve, Tshwane, her daughter loved to spend time with her gogo during the holidays.

Noluthando left home on Sunday to see her gogo, who lives nearby.

She was supposed to come home on Monday but she never arrived.

“When I came home from work, Noluthando wasn’t home, but I didn’t worry because I thought she had decided to stay with my mum for another night.”

But then the gogo called on Monday, asking if Noluthando had arrived home safely.

“I asked her brother Nkosinathi (18) if he had seen her and he told me she never came home.”

She said she rushed to Noluthando’s friends, who said she told them she was going home at 1pm.

“I asked neighbours and friends to help me and we searched for hours but she was nowhere to be found.”

Lindiwe then went to the police and opened a missing person’s case.

“They also went to look for her.”

She said after hours of searching she went home, hoping her daughter would still arrive.

“We posted her picture around the kasi on Tuesday and in the afternoon, we received a call to say a child’s body had been found.”

“I went to check. My heart almost stopped when I saw my daughter’s body. She was lying on top of electrical wires.”

Police spokesman Mathews Nkoadi said an inquest has been opened.

“The child seems to have been electrocuted but it still is not clear how she got there,” said Nkoadi.
