A HOBO made the gruesome discovery of a beheaded woman on Saturday.
It is believed the body found in a park in Durban is that of a magosha.
The mutilated body of the 30-year-old woman was found by a homeless man in a park on Edith Benson Crescent,
opposite the Botanic Gardens in Durban, at about 10am on Saturday.
The park is known for its sex workers who operate there day and night.
Her head was found a few metres away from the body.
Durban Central police spokesman Captain Khephu Ndlovu told Daily Sun her body is now at the government mortuary in Gale Street.
“Her eyes, ears and punani had been cut off. The motive for the murder is suspected to be related to sex work,” said Ndlovu.
He said it is suspected she might have been homeless because of the state of her clothing.
“She was wearing dirty clothes when she was found,” he said.
A police source told Daily Sun the hobo first saw the woman’s head lying on a footpath in the park.
“He then discovered her body behind a tree. He was there to leave his blankets before he started collecting papers and boxes to sell as he does every day.”
Ndlovu said a case of murder was opened at the Berea Police Station.
“No one has been arrested but our investigation continues,” said Ndlovu.
- Meanwhile, the Durban police search and rescue unit recovered the body of an unknown man in a stream in Umlazi’s BB section on Saturday.
