TWO taxis and a car crashed yesterday, leaving one man dead and 15 passengers injured.

It happened on Milky Way Road near Mushroom farm in Ntshongweni, west of Durban.

Netcare 911 spokesman Nick Dollman told Daily Sun that paramedics, firefighters and cops rushed to the scene.

A man believed to be in his 40s sustained severe injuries and died!

The other injured passengers were stabilised and taken by ambulance to hospital.

The road was closed off while cops were at the scene investigating, resulting in traffic.

  • Meanwhile, a two hour-long traffic jam left pupils, their parents and commuters frustrated.

Nomcebo Ngwenya (27) was in a taxi to drop her kids off at school when she realised the traffic was not moving.

“My children got to school late and I got to work even
later,” she said, adding that she didn’t witness the accident.

Police spokeswoman Colonel Thembeka Mbhele said the cause of the accident was still unknown.

“KwaNdengezi police are investigating a case of culpable homicide,” Mbhele told the People’s Paper.
