CHRISTINA ADVISED her daughter to hide away from her violent lover.

“I did not want him to find her at home because of what he might do to her,” she said.

I DID NOT THINK HE WOULD BURN DOWN THE FAMILY HOME, CRIED THE SAD MUM.

These were the words of Christina Motha (59) after her house was burnt down on Saturday, allegedly by her daughter’s enraged lover.

The man allegedly vowed revenge. He said he was going to hurt her in the worst possible way.
That is when Christina told her daughter, who was living with her in her house in Block CC in Soshanguve, Tshwane, not to come back home.

Christina was right. The angry man did go to the house. It is impossible to know what would have happened if Monica was home. It might have cost Monica her life, but it certainly cost Christina her house.

When the boyfriend went to the house after the funeral he found that Monica and her three-year-old son, who is also his son, were not at home. Instead he found kids playing soccer in the street and asked them if they had seen Monica and their son. They said no and he drove off.

Then he allegedly came back, poured petrol all over the building and set it alight.
He told the kids in the street he had burned down the house. The neighbours called the firefighters, but they could not save the house.

Christina said she could not believe that the man did this to her family. “I don’t even know what they were fighting about,” she said.

“It is not my daughter’s house. Now I do not even have other clothes to change into!”
The police were also called to the scene and they registered a case of arson. The lover has disappeared and the cops are still looking for him.

It appears her daughter, Monica Motha (40) fled from the house because she was scared of her lover. This was after mourners at a funeral told Monica they were angry because he had assaulted her.
