We stand as actors in a comedy planning to change people’s lives, promising to build them houses and so forth. How on earth are we going to do that without land?
Municipalities under the ANC government have been faced with a lack of land to build houses for the past 22 years, yet people are still being promised them.
Meanwhile, the reality is that there is no land for houses as the land is in the hands of whites.
In essence, a black government in parliament owns no land and the irony of this is that a white government in parliament before 1994 owned land.
Today, we must be proud of having black parliamentarians who wear suits and speak English yet they can’t even address past injustices. Instead, they choose to pay for land, which was taken from its rightful owners freely.
Indeed black man, you are on your own. Perhaps the answer to this question is land grabs, judging from the failed parliamentary route we’ve taken.
What do we stand to lose that we have not lost already, when after more than 21 years into democracy we are still guided by the Land Act of 1913?
What is freedom and independence for a nation if we don’t own the land?
I believe it’s better to suffer with land in our hands than to suffer with no land in our land. Black nation, take your land back, you have nothing to lose.
