THE ANC Youth League has demanded the reinstatement of former SABC chief operating officer, Hlaudi Motsoeneng.
At a media briefing following the league’s NEC and national working committee meeting, the league threatened to march to SABC headquarters in Auckland Park, Joburg if Motsoeneng was not returned to his former post.
League spokesman Mlondi Mkhize said regardless of whether or not Motsoeneng had a matric certificate, they wanted him back. They said the court ruling that his appointment had been irregular only criticised the process and not his lack of qualifications.
In a statement read out at the conference, the league said they had confidence in Motsoeneng and embattled SAA board chairwoman Dudu Myeni. They encouraged Motsoeneng to apply for the chief operating officer position when it is re-advertised.
