SOWETO dance group Soulistic Fusion are a happy trio right now.
On Saturday they walked away with bragging rights in the finale of the Red Bull Beat Battle which took place at the Walter Sisulu Square in Kliptown, Soweto.
This year the competition was not open to auditions. All the dance crews were handpicked to take part.
Soulistic Fusion were the only ones who were not previous champions in the competition.
The group from Dobsonville are the pioneers of the dance style called new school sbujwa.
Speaking to SunBuzz, founder of the group, Blessing Dhlamini said: “It means a lot to us to win the challenge because we were up against the best in the country.
“This is the second competition we’ve won this year so things are going well for us.”
They were up against Cape Town B-Boys and Ninja Turtles.
The judges of the competition for this year were Somizi Mhlongo, Lorna Maseko, Vouks Nojokes and Lorcia Cooper.
