T here’s no doubting the number of incredible female artists Mzansi has produced over the years.
Now a young woman from KwaZulu-
Natal says she is here to do her bit and claim the coming year as hers.
Pop singer Lisa Good says she is the next act to look out for.
She believes her music will catch the attention of many fans and will get them talking.
She has just released her single and a video titled Happy World – Haybo.
“It is quickly becoming a big hit and has opened many doors for me already.
“I have been performing a lot, but the one performance that stood out for me is when I was the opening act for Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer Patoranking and Khuli Chana at the Born to Win concert at the Bassline,” Lisa said.
Lisa’s journey started in Lamontville, Durban, where she was born Sindiswe Ntonga.
She studied for a diploma in music technology and sound engineering at the Creative Arts College in Durban to lay a strong foundation in the music industry.
In 2013 she moved to Joburg hoping to see her music career take off, but things didn’t work out as she thought.
She then took a job as a personal assistant to Nompumelelo Ngwenya who later started a recording company called Xhentsa Entertainment.
Late last year Lisa became the company’s first signed artist. “I perform pop, techno and hip hop, but decided to launch myself as a pop artist and it worked wonders,” she said.
Lisa said she is looking forward to performing at a New Year’s party at the Queenstown Indoor Sports Centre on 31
December.
