SHE is the queen of Mzansi entertainment and she has the country eating from the palm of her hand!

Khanyi Mbau has managed to reinvent herself and rise above her critics.

The actress, presenter, radio host and singer has a large set of skills in the bag and she switches effortlessly among her different roles. 

She has recently released a new single, titled Shake, which is a fun song with a Caribbean feel.

Speaking to SunBuzz about the song, she said: “It is a feel- good song for summer.”

The song was produced by legendary producer Alexis Faku, while Khanyi wrote the lyrics for it. Khanyi added that she would be working on singles and she might be releasing an album next year. On

Saturday she will perform at the Queen’s Picnic, which will take place at James Ethel and Gray Park in Birdhaven, Joburg.

Khanyi said the event will celebrate women. 

“It is a casual and laid-back show and men are also welcome. 

“People can expect a crazy show, new songs and a live band during my performance. 

“I am so excited.” 

The all- female line-up was the idea of music trio Kwela Tebza and this will be the first edition of the annual event. Tebogo Lerole of Kwela Tebza said: “We are here to celebrate our queens and all things feminine. 

“Everyone is welcome.”

Chomee, Bucie, Fifi Cooper, Babes Wodumo, Busiswa, Denise Zimba, Lerato Kganyago and DJs Zinhle, Cndo, Miss Pru, Poppy Ntshongwana and MsCosmo will join Khanyi on stage.

- Tickets are available at TicketPro from R250 to R2 000. Early bird tickets cost R150.
