DJ THOTHO is a fresh face in the music industry.
Born Lutho Payisa, the 25-year-old from Mthatha, Eastern Cape said she is establishing herself as one of the best woman DJsin the country.
Last year, the KZN-based Thoto released her first single, Sengimtholile.
The single featured Finisher and Boyzee.
“Working with Finisher and Boyzee was a good experience.
“It was my first project but they made things easy for me, which is why people are still dancing to that song,” she said.
DJ Thotho released another single titled Amabhungu, which featured SneMusiq.
She said her journey has not been easy.
“My family did not approve of my decision to become a DJ.
“They didn’t think it was the right career for me to pursue because I am a woman.
“They only started supporting me when I proved how passionate I was about deejaying.
“The only problem I have is finding a balance between my day job and deejaying.
“But I always knew I was destined to succeed.”
DJ Thotho is currently signed to Clyd’tainment, which is based in Umlazi, south of Durban.
