AKA is reportedly planning to split from his long-time record label, Vth Season.

The Baddest hit maker is rumoured to be moving to Mabala Noise Entertainment, which is owned by ANC Youth League treasurer-general Reggie Nkabinde.

Multiple sources have told Daily Sun the award-winning rapper has been in talks with the new record label for some time and is set to sign a contract by the end of the week.

“It is a verbal agreement right now, but he should be signing towards the end of the week,” said a reliable source.

Another source claimed Mabala Noise and Vth Season had been in discussions about the amount of money to be paid to buy AKA out of his current contract.

The source claimed the move would stir up a lot of drama because AKA does not get along with some of the artists already in the stable.

However, when the SunTeam contacted AKA, whose real name is Kiernan Forbes, he laughed.

“There is no comment from me because there is no truth in it. That is news to me, hey. I actually wish I was signed with them,” he said.

When asked whether he was still with Vth Season, AKA said: “Very much so, but no matter what I say I know you guys are going to publish this.” Vth Season boss Raphael Benza also denied the rumours, saying: “Who told you this? It is not true.”

Mabala Noise spokesman Mhlo Gumede denied the rumour, simply saying: “No!”

When asked for further comment he said: “If there is anything to share we usually hold a press conference. At the moment there is nothing to say.”

Earlier this month EFF leader Julius Malema publicly accused Nkabinde of using Mabala Noise for money-laundering and opened fraud and racketeering cases against him.
