Former Sekhukhune United Zambian goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata has since returned home and signed a two-year contract with Zesco United.

In a one-on-one interview with Soccer Laduma, he talks about why he decided to go back home even though he had offers from various DStv Premiership teams.

Previously the Siya crew had reported that there could have been interest for the Zambian from teams like TS Galaxy and Orlando Pirates but nothing happened so he returned to his former team.

"Yes, it's true I had offers from clubs in South Africa. We had been talking to two or three clubs but it was taking time and I wanted to be sure that I will be playing when the season starts," Nsabata told the Siya crew.

"I need to be active as we prepare for the Afcon Finals next year. So, when Zesco came in and showed that they were serious then I told my representatives that it was a good move and we agreed on everything. That's why I joined them.

"I know the team and the culture so it will help me settle in quickly and get a chance to play again," Nsabata said.

The Zambian joined Sekhukhune United in 2021 and had a very good first season with Babina Noko but things didn't work out for him in his second season after the arrival of Ivorian number one Badra Ali Sangare.

Nsabata had settled for the bench for most of the season which prompted the team to terminate his contract with one year left on the deal.
