What's the story?

Let's take a closer look...

How Boateng bought multiple rides in one day

German-born and former Ghana Black Stars baller Kevin-Prince Boateng played for a host of clubs during his eventful football career, which he brought to an end in 2023.

Boateng was as eccentric as most modern footballers are today, splurging on designer clothing and like a decent chunk of high-earning stars, he's spoilt himself with some super cars.

The 36-year-old started and ended his career at Hertha Berlin and also played for Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, Genoa, AC Milan, Portsmouth, Schalke 04, Las Palmas, Eintracht Frankfurt, Sassuolo, Fiorentina, Besiktas and Monza, but it's a story from his Spurs days that's popped up again.

"I bought three cars in one day when I was at Tottenham: a Lamborghini, a Hummer and a Cadillac. To the youngsters, I tell them: 'You cannot buy happiness'.

"I didn't play, I had family problems, I was out of the squad. I was looking for happiness in material things: a car makes you happy for a week. I bought three to be happy for three weeks," said Boateng back in a revealing interview with an Italian publication, La Repubblica.

Boateng only managed just 14 appearance for Spurs and revealed in that same interview that he failed to get out of first gear, admitting to lacking discipline and focus.

"I'll go back and say: I didn't treat football as a job. I was an idiot. I had talent, but I trained the bare minimum, an hour on the field.

"I was the last to arrive and the first to leave. I'd be out with friends. I had money, I lived like a king. I'd never been to the gym. That changes your later career," said Boateng on his struggles at Spurs.
