DJ Sbu vs Kaizer Chiefs

DJ Sbu, real name Sibusiso Leope, divulged in a podcast interview on how Kaizer Chiefs threatened to take him to court.

The "Remember when it rains" hitmaker recalled the incident that landed him in Amakhosi's bad books, where he gave his friends Tsepo Masilela, Siboniso Gaxa and Morgan Gould Mofaya merchandise to wear.

The aforementioned ballers were reprimanded and reportedly fined by Amakhosi for being pictured in Mofaya items while wearing the club's colours before a match.

As mentioned by DJ Sbu, the picture he took with the players went viral on social media, prompting Amakhosi to threaten legal action.

"At some point we were almost sued by Kaizer Chiefs, because I went to FNB [FNB Stadium], and I knew there was going to be a derby, and a friend of mine Tsepo Masilela with some of his other friends [Gould and Gaxa], I knew they coming into the FNB Stadium much earlier.

"So, I drove there in my Porsche, I got there, full of Mofaya. I made sure everyone got Mofaya t-shirts," said Sbu who then elaborated on how the picture he took with the former Chiefs stars trended on social media, didn't please Chiefs.

"Kaizer Chiefs was very pissed off with Mofaya and we got a letter from ENS, one of the legal firms in the country, and we were disciplined.

"I look back on it now, older, and I laugh about it. I remember at some point, one of the DStv Delicious Festival's, I was with sis Jessica Motaung, and she was telling me; 'You don't play with a brand like Kaizer Chiefs'," he added.
