Mamelodi Sundowns playmaker Sipho Mbule has revealed why he is called the 'The real master chef'. Here's a look!

What's the story?

Mbule made his return to the team on Sunday, featuring in a 16-minute cameo as Sundowns picked up a convincing 3-0 win over Mauritania outfit Nouadhibou in the CAF Champions League.

Sundowns boss Rulani Mokwena has consistently applauded the player since Mbule joined and his recent cameo showed that he was returning to full fitness, as he was brought on to see out the victory and get some much-needed minutes.

He was certainly cooking, as he was stringing together long sequences of passes and preventing the opposition for being comfortable on the ball..

However, it now seems that his cooking goes beyond the field and into the kitchen. Nicknamed The real master chef, Mbule was recorded by his teammate Sifiso Ngobeni while helping out at the cafeteria at Chloorkop. Although it is unclear what role he played in preparing the food, the 25-year-old did not mince his words as he said he was "ichef yangempela [a real chef].

A maestro with his feet, the central midfielder seems very happy at Sundowns despite rumours saying otherwise. With his contract only expiring in 2025, the player has a future at the club, where he has enjoyed huge success already having won the 2022/23 DStv Premiership title as well as the inaugural African Football League.

Did you know?

Mbule was born in Bethlehem, Free State and he began his youth career at Harmony Academy, where he played alongside his current teammate and former colleague at SuperSport United, Teboho Mokoena.
