By his own admission, ex-Chippa United boss Morgan Mammila is man of many talents after he was spotted flexing his skills in an industry that's far too different to football and coaching. Here's a look!
The story
Mammila has endeared himself to many South African football supporters thanks to his outspoken ways during his short stint as Chippa manager.
Before being appointed as the Eastern Cape outfit's head coach, he served as the club's CEO from January to April 2019. The retired tactician has a plethora of skills at his disposal and has worked varying jobs in life, including being a taxi owner, as well as an officer for the South African Police Service.

He has since been sacked by the Nelson Mandela Bay side at the end of last month and it seems that Mamilla has more time on his hands to exercise his construction skills, as he also has expertise operating a CAT 428F TLB bulldozer! According to Plant Index, a brand new one of these heavy vehicles will set you back by R950 000.

Mamilla also announced his retirement from coaching last week despite having only obtained his CAF D and C licences within the last six months.
“I have taken a decision to retire from coaching with the achievements you have helped me achieve with your team,” he said in the letter to Mpengesi, according to Times Live.
“I take this opportunity to thank you personally for identifying my coaching talent and appointing me head coach of Chippa United without being advised by anyone.
“I congratulate you for making me the first coach to win four games in a row at Chippa United and first DStv Premiership coach to win four games in a row for the 2022/2023 season.
“It can only take a genius person or special gifted person to take the decision you took by identifying my coaching capabilities and to appoint me as head coach of your team.
While many coaches who have parted ways with Chippa have left in some sort of acrimonious way due to Mpengesi's trigger-happy nature, Mammila has not burned any bridges with the flamboyant owner, as he thanked his former boss for paying for his coaching qualifications.
“How can I forget the lifetime coaching badges you paid for me, my chairman. I bow out of the team a happy man because I have done my part for the success of the team.”
