Following a recent collaboration on a grand prix related project, Banyana Banyana legend Amanda Dlamini is enjoying a fantastic post-retirement life that is perhaps more eventful than her football heyday. Here's a look.

The story

Dlamini's time with Banyana came during a period where women's football is South Africa was not doing well as it doing now.  The women's game has gradually received the importance it strongly deserves but the former playmaker's generation most definitely laid the foundation for what it is today, despite the sport still having a long way to go still, in terms of equality.

Nevertheless, Dlamini definitely played her part as she was also captain of the side before hanging up her boots. It seems now that she now living many of her dreams, as she continues to be recognised by organisations, fans, and brands as the true star that she is.

Her influence is clearly beyond football and she was part of an esteemed list of women who have made a big impact in women's sports in South Africa. The 34-year-old teamed up with the Kayalami 9 Hour and was involved in making their recent event a success.

Reacting to the collaboration, Dlamini posted stunning snaps on Instagram while at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Sandton. She said: "When your heart is in the right place, what an epic weekend!

"It’s not too late to try a new sport right !??? My love for fast cars Is a little obsession.

"Super happy and excited to have not only collaborated with But met these super talented Women in this Series of Aligning Women in Sport.
