Born in Johannesburg, Bafana Bafana star Lebo Mothiba has spent close to 10 years in France and it seems that he has built a meaningful relationship with his new parents.
The story
The Strasbourg striker has not only has a French passport but he is also fluent in the language after arriving in the country as a teenager back in 2014.
With almost a decade being a permanent resident in the country, the player seems to have built a solid life for himself overseas, making close ties with the people that matter the most to him.

Among these special people in the marksman’s life is a woman named Rosella Catania and a gentleman called Eddy Catania. Although it is unclear what his relationship with these special people is, he refers to them as his “mom” and “dad”. The three of them seem to be very close, as images on his Instagram show that the centre-forward is often cozied up with them at gatherings and other family-oriented events.
The couple and the player evidently share a huge appreciation for each other, as the pair often comment on his pictures sending their love. On the romantic front, things appear to be also going smoothly for Mothiba as he looks to be still with his long-term partner Laurie Mary.
On the football side of things, he has now overcome is recurring injury struggles and looks to be a big part of Patrick Vieira plans this season in Ligue 1. He has registered 3 appearances so far in four games, scoring one goal in the process.
Mothiba also made a return to the South African national team and will be gunning for a spot in Hugo Broos’ Afcon squad in January 2024.
