He wouldn't be the first artist to switch genres. He rose to fame as a rapper but now he's proudly owning the title of amapiano artist.

“I was one of the first rappers to do amapiano. When I did it with Thebe and DJ Sumbody, people laughed at me. I am always getting criticized on social media, but that doesn’t bother me,” Cassper Nyovest tells Drum.

The 30-year-old has been heavily criticised on social media for apparently seeking to stay relevant and adapting his music to make it sounds like whatever genre is trendy at the time.
