Here’s why people love Capitec

accreditation

CAPITEC Bank is undoubtedly one of the most popular banks among South Africans.

We recently ran a voting poll on the Daily Sun website and by far Capitec emerged as one of Mzansi’s favourite banks.

FNB, Standard Bank and ABSA also made the list but Capitec was voted the best digital bank.

Its unaudited financial results for the six months ended on 31 August yield a 17% growth in group headline earnings from R4 billion to R4,7 billion.

In a statement, the bank attributed the success to its client-centricity enabled by technological innovations that are intended to satisfy clients’ needs while supporting their financial well-being.

With over 20 years in the game, the bank boasts almost 16 million clients of which more than 8 million bank with them digitally.

CEO Gerrie Fourie said its goal is to make technology its DNA to ensure that banking is simple, affordable, accessible and transparent.

“It’s not about being tech first but rather about meeting our clients where they are at, which is often in a hybrid world enabled through technology,” Fourie said.
