Shame on you, bad leaders! - Andries Monyane, Sedibeng

accreditation

There’s an unacceptable trend that is being masterminded by those who occupy the office of responsibility.

Leaders in different public or private space have taken the media platforms by utterances that in a few minutes are being withdrawn with an apology.

What is concerning is that we expect them to be advocating in defence of ethical and moral behaviour of the nation. How then are we supposed to win the battle of ill-discipline, moral decay, racism and youth conduct if leaders continue to behave badly?

Also, how will a mere apology remedy the damage which is done to the minds of so many people who rely on those in leadership for a better life?

What really went into their minds in the first place to utter words that have a potential of destroying the mindset of many who might not have a luxury of being educated. I think before we accept an apology, we need to find out from those leaders what informed their stand, and what were they intending to achieve.

We are fighting corruption, gender-based violence, drugs, criminals and racism, murder, kidnapping and hijacking.

Those who we trust with our lives are taking us for granted.

I think leaders who behave badly must resign from their positions with immediate effect!
