AN angry jealous boyfriend is still on the run after his girlfriend’s mum died in hospital. The lover went on to burn his girlfriend's family home in Orange Farm extension 6, south of Joburg, to ashes.

Daily Sun published an article with the headline, 'Gintsa' lover destroys family home, detailing how the boyfriend allegedly petrol-bombed the girlfriend’s family home on Sunday, 28 January.

The gogo (55), together with her husband (65), who is still fighting for his life at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, were in the house when the boyfriend allegedly set the house on fire.

The girlfriend (30) told Daily Sun that on Monday, 5 February her mum died due to burn wounds. She said her dad wants the boyfriend arrested for murder.

“My mum and dad became victims because I had an argument with my angry boyfriend after he accused me of cheating. This happened after he couldn’t find me on the phone the previous day,” she said.

The girlfriend said when she called her boyfriend to ask him why he burnt his family home, he allegedly told her he was coming back to finish what he had started.

“Now, my mum is no more. I feel more pain and regret dating that criminal,” she said.

Gauteng police spokeswoman, Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, said a case of arson has been opened for further investigation.

"Circumstances surrounding this incident are unclear at this stage. No arrests have been made," Nevhuhulwi said.

She appealed to umphakathi to help the police to locate the boyfriend, known as Siyabonga Nkosi, aka "gunman", regarding the case.
