BRUTALLY killed Bongiwe Mntshange from Boipatong, Vaal was given an emotional send-off by her loved ones on Tuesday, 6 February.

Bongiwe's mum, Lindiwe Mntshange, said she will not rest until her daughter's killer is found.

She said what pains her more is that when her daughter's half-naked body was found in an open field by boys with their dogs hunting, the body had begun to decompose.

"My child was a sweet girl who loved church very much," she said.

Bongiwe was reported missing after she left her home on Thursday, 25 January, to visit relatives in Sebokeng in the Vaal and didn't return home. Her body was found on Sunday, 28 January, in an open field not far from home.

During her funeral, many speakers slammed the perpetrators of her murder and demanded that justice be served.

They further said that the incident highlighted the plight of gender-based violence in the community and called for action to be taken to ensure the safety of women and children.

Archbishop Sibusiso Nkohla told Daily Sun that they had come to give Bongiwe her final send-off and to lay her to rest.

"We are not going to do anything to avenge Bongiwe's senseless killing. God is the one who is going to deal harshly with the perpetrator. He will not go unpunished, and he'll also suffer the same fate as Bongiwe," he said.

Boipatong police spokeswoman Sergeant Thembeka Maxembela said they were investigating a case of murder.
