A MUM of four is living in fear after the father of her kids allegedly hired hitmen to kill her.

She claimed things turned sour in 1997 when the man brought nyatsis home, assaulted her and accused her of cheating on him.

The 51-year-old woman from Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga, said the man (72) violated a series of protection orders and kicked her out of the house, allegedly helped by the police. She also alleged that the cops assaulted, harassed and jailed her for nine days in 2015.

She said in October, he warned her that he hired hitmen to kill her if she didn’t leave his house.

“He left and later returned with the hitmen driving BMWs. I could hear him instruct them to enter the house and shoot me dead. But fortunately, I was rescued by neighbours who heard me shout for help. The gang eventually sped off with him. I left the house for my life’s sake.”

Called for comment on the alleged assault by the police, Ipid spokeswoman Lizzy Suping referred questions to the civilian secretariat of the police.

“It’s a service delivery issue and does not fall within the Ipid mandate,” she said. Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said no case was opened by the alleged victim. He advised her to see the station commissioner.
